"The Democrats never disagreed on the need to reach more deeply into New Jersey taxpayers' wallets. The issue was whose wallets did they most want to target this time around. While the agreement was portrayed as a way to get the state’s corporations and wealthiest citizens to pay more of their fair share, the truth is that no one is exempt. Don’t delude yourself into thinking the fact that the Democrats mostly went after the rich and the corporations will ease the burden on everyone else. In the long run – and likely much sooner – the taxes on the wealthy and corporations will trickle down to all of us."
