Unaffordable public spending

New Jersey property owners pay over $28 billion in local property tax every year; another $35 billion is collected at the state level; and adding in our Federal funding, NJ Government is a $77 billion enterprise. All these taxes fund the delivery of public services, which are overwhelmingly delivered through human capital. Examining, modernizing, and restructuring the cost of public services is long overdue, as are health benefit and pension reforms. GSI will systematically reveal these underlying costs and what can be done to bring New Jersey government into the 21st century.
